Since 1998, OAI has provided environmental remediation and green job training programs for unemployed and underemployed residents of the Kansas City metropolitan area. Trainees graduate with the knowledge, skills and certifications to excel in a variety of environmental green careers including lead and asbestos abatement, hazardous waste removal, and home weatherization.
ERA Environmental and Safety, a woman owned environmental contracting and training firm, has been the lead partner in Kansas City, administering the training program and guiding training graduates toward employment and productive careers.
